Joseph F. Pitkin (October 30, 1823) was a watchmaker in Buffalo, New York, and Hartford, Connecticut. He was also the third husband of Emily Goodwin, a 7th-generation descendant of Ozias Goodwin, one of the early founders of Hartford. He was born on October 30, 1823 in East Hartford, Connecticut, the son of Osmyn Pitkin and Emily Norton. He was a watchmaker in Buffalo, New York,

but after his marriage to Emily Goodwin on September 24, 1872, he removed to Hartford, Connecticut, where he continued the practice.
