Mary Goodwin (February 8, 1815 - October 8, 1890) was the daughter of Horace Goodwin and the great-great-great-great-great granddaughter of Ozias Goodwin, one of the early settlers of Hartford, Connecticut. She was born on February 8, 1815 in Hartford as the daughter of Horace Goodwin and Mary Ramsey.

On April 15, 1841, she married Sumner Smith, the son of Benjamin Smith and Mary Graves of Brighton, Massachusetts. Smith was a watchmaker and jeweller, residing in Hartford with his wife, where he died on December 29, 1847.
