William Goodwin (1629 - October 15, 1689) was the eldest son of Ozias Goodwin, one of the founders of Hartford. He married Susanna Goodwin. By 1672, he was listed as a chimneyviewer. He owned land on the east side of the Connecticut River, which he gave to his heirs upon his death. After his death on October 15, 1689, inventory of his estate was taken on November 5. His widow, Susanna Goodwin, married for a second time in August 1691 to John Shephard, Sr. of Hartford.
