Willis J. Goodsell (April 3, 1824 - May 20, 1886) was a Hartford jeweller. He was born on April 3, 1824, the son of Jacob Goodsell and Sophia Pierpont. At one time, he was a representative from the town of Wallingford, Connecticut. When he became an adult, he became a member of the Washington commandery, Knights Templar. For many years, he worked as a jeweller as the partner of Major Horace Goodwin of the Putnam Phalanx in 1858. After Goodwin's death in 1864, Goodsell continued the business by himself for two years. In 1866, he removed to New Haven, Connecticut, where he went into the business with his brother.
On May 20, 1886, Goodsell died in New Haven, Connecticut. He was buried at Spring Grove Cemetery.
